Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher has a complete nightmare at work next week, when he makes a mistake with huge personal consequences for hospital bully Dr Todd.
When a frightening incident involving the tough doctor’s dad unfolds, Jacob makes the wrong choice, which leaves him in hot water with his boss. But will his loved ones realise how much he is struggling?

“Jacob’s time as a trainee doctor has been a living hell so far,” begins our Emmerdale insider. “He is utterly overwhelmed by the pressure that Dr Todd has been piling on him.
“But things are about to get a lot worse when he makes a massive error on his hardest day in A&E to date…”
Dr Todd’s unwell father is currently a patient in hospital, and he suddenly goes into cardiac arrest. Jacob is the only person by his side at this terrifying moment, so he leaps into action and gives the elderly man CPR.
But it turns out this is the wrong thing to do, as there is a Do Not Resuscitate order in place. When Dr Todd discovers what has happened to her dad, she is furious with Jacob for ignoring the all-important DNR, and wastes no time in disciplining her panicked mentee…
“Jacob is constantly second-guessing himself at work, and in an impossible situation, he makes a critical mistake,” continues our spy. “Dr Todd rages at him in the aftermath and sends him home when he snaps at her in response.

“Jacob is totally humiliated and leaves the hospital with his tail between his legs and tears in his eyes.”
With Jacob reaching breaking point, Kerry Wyatt begins to suspect there is more to the situation than meets the eye. Later in the week, her fears are confirmed when she overhears Dr Todd shouting at Jacob at the hospital – so she decides to get involved.
Feisty Kerry heads over to give the medic a piece of her mind and makes it clear that she’s not someone to be messed with. But Dr Todd’s response leaves her speechless.

“Kerry is determined to stand up to Todd, but the scary doc hits back,” warns our source. “She justifies her behaviour by reeling off all the mistakes Jacob has made during his placement, and Kerry walks away fearing that she has only added fuel to the fire…”
Has Kerry’s sudden outburst made things even worse for Jacob?
