Separate bins for dog waste and litter will be phased out and replaced with a single bin across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP).

There are about 2,800 litter and dog waste bins of various types and sizes across the three towns.

BCP Council said underground bins would be considered as storage is generally higher, the frequency of collection may be reduced and smart technology can be used to increase efficiency

The proposal was unanimously approved by BCP Council’s cabinet.
