Merseyside Police have just released a statement about the incident.
They said: “We can confirm that emergency services were at Newsham Park Hospital following a disturbance at the premises tonight, Friday 3 April.
“Just after 9pm we received a report of a large disturbance during an event at Newsham Park Hospital.
“Two men have been taken to hospital with head injuries.
“The premises has been evacuated by police patrols in the area.”
