Susan Boyle has finally bid farewell to her beloved council home in Blackburn, West Lothian, where she spent her entire life.
The Scottish star rocketed to fame on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 with her unforgettable audition, delivering a show-stopping rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les MisĂ©rables. Her remarkable audition left the nation speechless, while also winning over judge Simon Cowell. From that moment, her star rose meteorically and, despite not taking home the top prize, she has gone on to sell over 21 million records worldwide.
Despite amassing considerable wealth, Susan remained in her humble abode, though she did expand her home somewhat. In 2014, the singer purchased the neighbouring property to her former council house for ÂŁ110,000, combining the two dwellings to create her perfect home.

She had previously attempted to put down roots elsewhere, snapping up a ÂŁ300,000 detached five-bedroom new-build in 2010, but struggled to settle and ultimately returned to her roots. Now, the vocalist has finally left her three-bedroom childhood home behind and relocated to a new council area.
According to The Sun, Susan is now living near Falkirk, having made the move to be closer to her PA Geraldine Easton.
The relocation coincides with another momentous milestone, as the star celebrated her 65th birthday on April 1, giving fans their first glimpse inside her brand-new home. She stood before a mantelpiece decorated with Happy Birthday and New Home cards, alongside a birthday banner and a balloon filled with confetti. Susan shared the picture on Instagram with her 177,000 followers, reports the Daily Record.
She wrote in the caption: “Thank you all so much for your lovely birthday wishes, cards and gifts. I’ve felt so spoiled and very grateful for all your kindness. I’m truly touched by all the love you’ve sent my way, it means more to me than I can say. “I’m so excited for the year ahead and everything that’s to come. I can’t wait to share it all with you. With love, Susan x”.

The photograph offered a glimpse into her living room, featuring grey patterned wallpaper alongside a cream fireplace and mirror. Susan’s new residence sits just 20 miles away from her childhood home, which remained unchanged throughout her rise to international fame.
Speaking about the move earlier this week, a close friend told The Sun: “Susan has lived in that house all her life and is a proud Blackburn woman. This has been a real emotional wrench for her. She always spoke about feeling a strong bond to her parents by remaining there. So now it’s just a lot more convenient. Susan has her two cats with her, which has helped, as well as pictures of her mum and dad.”
