Fans of Coronation Street think they know which of the five potential murder victims definitely doesn’t die.

It was confirmed earlier in the year that a murder mystery would unfold, as teased in a flashforward in February. The scene confirmed five possible victims, with one set to be murdered in April.

With us now just weeks away, a possible clue on social media might have ruled out a victim. It will be either Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton or Jodie Ramsey who is killed off.

But a post about a returing character on social media has left some fans thinking Carl will definitely survive. On the MAMMA MIA! X and Instagram accounts, a photo was shared of some of the Corrie cast who went to see a performance recently.

Included in the photos was Carl actor Jonathan Howard. The caption revealed that he was pictured with former co-star Sara Poyzer, who played businesswoman Fiona who Carl was involved in some dodgy schemes with.

She’s also mentioned in scenes coming up, as Ronnie Bailey decides to contact her to see if Carl is telling the truth about a £10k debt. But the social media post, while not confirmed by Corrie, suggests Sara will soon reprise her role as Fiona.

It’s not until the summer though, with the post claiming Sara will be back on the show with filming beginning “soon”. The post caption read: “Saturday night saw the MAMMA MIA! cast joined by some very familiar faces from Coronation Street.

“Johnny Howard, Sue Devaney and Sally Carman. It won’t be long until our very own Donna, Sara Poyzer, joins them in Weatherfield — filming begins soon and you’ll see Sara on screen later this summer.”

This post left fans convinced that Carl will survive, as Fiona isn’t onscreen until Summer according to this post. Perhaps there’s some confusion and it’s actually the stuff with Ronnie happening this month, before the murder happens.

There’s also a strong possibility that Fiona’s return will happen regardless of whether Carl dies or not. Fiona has links to Ronnie and also, possibly, wants her money from Carl, so perhaps she will come after the Websters to get her money.

It doesn’t actually rule out Carl as the victim, and while Fiona’s return could well suggest Carl will still be alive in the summer, there is no guarantee. Fans shared their thoughts, with one saying: “Dodgy Fiona making a comeback then?!”

Another said: “Not the official Mamma Mia account basically saying that Jonathan Howard is still filming (meaning Carl survives post April 23rd) or that the current Donna (Sara Poyzer) is about to join Corrie was not on my 2026 bingo card!”
