The incident happened on Carr Crofts in Armley at around 7.08pm on Thursday, April 2, when a grey Volkswagen T‑Cross was involved in a collision with a 19‑year‑old man.

Car made off from scene

Following the collision, the car failed to stop and left the scene. The vehicle has not yet been located.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which police say are not being treated as life‑threatening.

Police believe collision was deliberate

Following initial enquiries, officers believe the vehicle may have deliberately struck the teenager and say a number of lines of enquiry are currently being pursued.

Leeds CID is now appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.

Police have issued an appeal for further information relating to the incident online.

A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was seriously injured in a fail to stop collision in Leeds.

“Leeds CID would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has footage of the incident which took place on Carr Crofts, Armley during the evening of Thursday 2 April.

“It occurred at about 7.08pm after a grey Volkswagen T Cross was in collision with a 19-year-old teenage boy in the street.

“The car then made off from the scene and is yet to be located.

“The victim suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not being treated as life threatening.

“Following investigation, officers believe the car struck the teenager deliberately and are currently pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.
