Britain’s Got Talent viewers are convinced they have rumbled a trick from the opening of tonight’s show. Ant and Dec fronted another edition of the ITV talent show on Saturday evening.

Simon Cowell, KSI, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were in the judges chair for a round of auditions as they aimed to find the UK’s next star to perform at the Royal Variety. The Maverick Magicians were the second act to perform on the latest episode as they arrived on the stage to dazzle the judges with their tricks.

The group of three asked KSI to select a word that nobody would know or be able to guess. The trick took a turn when the group joked they had forgotten to bring the watermelon for the next stage of their trip.

A member of the group asked Simon if he would leave the studio with them to go and buy a shop on the next stage of the trip. The former X Factor judge put on his coat and exited the studio.

While leaving the studio during auditions is a rare move for the judge, Ant and Dec joked it was something else that Simon would be doing for the first. Dec said: “Simon going to a shop?”

Ant added: “This has never happened before.” Simon greeted fans in Blackpool on his way to the shop to purchase a watermelon while the two remaining members of the Maverick Magicians spoke to the crowd.

KSI revealed he had picked the word Roshni after an old primary school friend, before the magician’s unveiled a note that said: “Check the watermelon.”

As the third magician returned to the studio, they proceeded to get a hammer and smashed the inside. A note was on the floor of the studio, which was revealed to be KSI’s word: “Roshni.”

However, viewers following BGT on social media platform X were confused as to why the trick took three people and are convinced they have worked out how to do the trick.

A user named Phil said: “I wondered why they needed 3 guys. Was the third guy writing the name on a piece of paper and hiding in the fake hammer?”

Victoria posted: “They had plenty of time to place the paper somewhere around the watermelon – in the hammer, under the table etc.. and as soon as KSI hit the watermelon it would’ve been ejected out. Explains why they always ask for an answer before the ‘big reveal’.”

Jackie said: “Weird that the paper wasn’t watermelon wet..” Jose added: “The piece of paper was obviously already on the floor under the guy’s foot.”

@alltvukshows posted: “I bet the note was in the hammer.” Edmund commented: “A dry piece of paper out of a water melon no way !!”

The judges were wowed by the trick and voted the Maverick Magicians through. Simon said: “Seriously, that’s unbelievable. I’m blown away, absolutely blown away. How did t hat happen?”

KSI added: “I’m lost for words, that was incredible.”
