Inside Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, in Longnor
A tourist hotspot pub is hitting out at Easter holiday walkers using its car park and toilets – without purchasing any food or drink. The car park at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, in Longnor, has been full by 10.30am in the Easter school holidays.
It comes as walkers are also using the High Street pub as a ‘public toilet’.
In a social media post, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese stated: “Our car park has been completely full with vehicles belonging to people heading off for walks. This unfortunately leaves no available spaces for our booked guests or our staff. We kindly remind everyone that our car park is for paying customers and staff only. If you’re visiting the area for a walk, there is a large public car park in the village square or we ask that you please find alternative parking that doesn’t impact local businesses.”
The venue added: “We are NOT a public toilet. Just like our car park, our toilets are for customers and staff only. There is a perfectly good public toilet available in the village square so there’s really no need to use ours if you’re not visiting us. Please respect our space and our team. Toilet roll costs money and so does the time we have to pay staff to constantly clean facilities that are being misused. Thanks for your understanding.”
