Canelo Alvarez has been involved in a number of huge fights throughout his professional career.

The Mexican superstar has become one of the biggest names in the sport over the past decade, being involved in massive fights against the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Gennady Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev and Dmitry Bivol.

Those fights has seen him become a four-weight world champion, having claimed world honours at super-welterweight, middleweight, super-middleweight and light heavyweight.

He has another epic clash coming up next month, when he defends his undisputed super-middleweight titles against fellow pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13.

While he is currently fully focused on Crawford, Canelo has revealed that there is another man out there that he would love to take on, but believes it will never happen.

Speaking to DAZN, he explained that he would love to get the chance to avenge his loss to boxing legend Mayweather.

“Yes, of course [I would like to fight Mayweather again]. I would love the opportunity to get revenge. Obviously we know it’s not going to happen but yes, I would love to get rid of that little thorn.”

Canelo and Mayweather met back in September 2013, with Mayweather claiming the victory on points to hand the Mexican icon what was the first defeat of his professional career.

Mayweather went on to retire with a perfect 50-0 record, having also picked up wins against the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez.
