People “rushed to help” a motorist this afternoon after her car collided with two others and “ended up on top of them” in a supermarket car park. Merseyside Police were called to Tesco Superstore on Deysbrook Lane in West Derby at around 1.20pm today, Thursday, August 7, following reports of a three car crash.

One woman, who witnessed the crash, said: “Everyone was kind to the lady who was driving. It looks like she reversed into a bollard and mounted the cars behind instead of driving forwards.

“She was helped out of the vehicle and put into a wheelchair. Lots of people around rushed to help.”

Police said nobody was injured in the crash, which involved a silver Volkswagen Polo, a grey Citroen SpaceTourer Plus and a silver Ford Kuga. All drivers remained at the scene.

Three fire engines, four police cars, two ambulance response cars and an ambulance attended the scene. Another witness said one of the cars had “ended up on top” of the two other cars.
