David Haye sparks a rumble in the jungle in I’m A Celeb South Africa, the show’s hosts Ant and Dec have revealed on their podcast. A bust-up erupts between the former boxer, 45, and Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard, 69, both of whom are returning to the show’s ‘All Stars’ series tonight.

Dec Donnelly, 50, explained on the Hanging Out podcast he hosts with Ant McPartlin: “One of my favourites beefs of the whole series was just between David Haye and Beverly Callard. She just did not take… she was brilliant.” Podcast guest Scarlett Moffatt, who also appears on the upcoming series said: “She just doesn’t care either. We were in there with people who just give no s***s.”

Former Googlebox star Scarlett, 35, opened up on some of the clashes set to play out on the show. She said: “David Haye, oh my god. I’ve never met anybody like him in my life. He really doesn’t care. Do you know what, that’s actually part of his charm. I must admit that is what I was drawn to.

“I just found him so fascinating but sometimes he’d say things and I’d sit on my hammock and I’d let him carry on a bit and then go I’m going after him now.”

She added that some of the men in camp failed to pick him up on his comments, saying: “Some of the blokes, howay like. I was waiting for them and then I go no, I don’t think anyone else is going to, so I’m going to have to say something.” Dec said jokingly: “Hold me pint I’m going in.”

Ashley Roberts, who appeared alongside Scarlett on Hanging Out, said: “I was with him in 2012. We were reunited but it’s just like maybe, things haven’t changed, maybe the world has a bit. Well hey honey we can’t say that.”

Scarlett added: I think his mam summed it up. He said to me what do your family think about you doing this. They said just be yourself. He went my mum said the opposite, she said be anybody but yourself. She said just do the trials and sit quiet.” Dec chipped in, saying: “Well he didn’t take her advice.”

Beverley, famous for playing Liz McDonald on Coronation Street, first appeared on the 2020 series of I’m A Celeb in 2020, which was filmed at Gwrych Castle in Wales due to global Covid travel restrictions. She was eliminated fourth in the series, which was won by Giovanna Fletcher, with Jordan North and Vernon Kay as runners up.

David appeared years earlier in the 2012 series, coming third behind the winner, EastEnders star Charlie Brooks, with Ashley, 44, in second place. The boxer is thought to have bagged the biggest appearance fee that year, of £165,000.

This series of I’m A Celeb South Africa also stars Mo Farah, Seann Walsh, Adam Thomas, Craig Charles, Harry Redknapp, Sinitta, Jimmy Bullard and Gemma Collins.
