A police cordon has been put in place on Crimdon Dene beach where what is believed to be WW2 ordnance has been found. Cleveland Police has said the items had been set alight.

One member of the public is said to have sustained minor burns. Emergency services were called to Crimdon Dene beach late on Tuesday morning, April 7, and remain at the scene.
