Poulton Park Golf Club has applied to Warrington Borough Council seeking full planning permission for its existing marquee.
The tent has been sited at the club, on Dig Lane in Fearnhead, for 12 years, but further temporary permission is sought for a further six years.
The marquee has been used for events such as christenings, wedding receptions, anniversaries, and birthdays.
Planning documents state: “The marquee has been in its present location now for a number of years.
“There are several ways in which prospective users can access the marquee. Due to its reasonably close proximity to houses, prospective users can easily walk to the facility.
“Alternatively, prospective users who need to drive can use the golf club’s existing car park. The car park can accommodate up to 100 vehicles.
“Due to the limitation in the number of people the marquee can accommodate, there would never be the situation whereby people using the marquee would have to park their vehicle on Crab Lane, potentially causing an obstruction.”
