Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake Could Anchor PS5's Summer, Reveal Next Week 1 Image: Push Square

What’s your favourite Assassin’s Creed game? The excellent Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, a PS4 launch game, has got to be up there, right?

Edward Kenway’s adventure had a cool mix of traditional stealth action and nautical adventuring, and who doesn’t like pirates at the end of the day? In this One Piece obsessed world, we can’t blame Ubisoft for giving the game another go.

We know this remake has been rumoured for eternity, but the French publisher actually officially confirmed it last month, as Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced.

Now there’s word of an incoming announcement, on 16th April.

While the rumour was started by ResetEra user BlackBate earlier today, Insider Gaming’s relatively reliable Tom Henderson has since corroborated the story.

According to the website, the game is slated to release at any point between June and August of this year, so it looks like it’s going to dominate our summer gaming, ahead of GTA 6 later in the holidays.

It’s been a trying generation for Ubisoft, but it’ll be counting on this effort to get its finances back on track.

Personally, we’re eager to see what kind of improvements the publisher incorporates into this remake, because Assassin’s Creed has changed a lot over the last decade, so it’ll be interesting to see which aspects it decides to incorporate into its sailing sandbox.
