Four Leeds Rhinos players have left the club on a short-term loan deal with another Super League club offering an update on their own loan player.

After being knocked out of the Challenge Cup in disappointing circumstances against Wakefield Trinity, the Rhinos are not in action this week alongside five other Super League clubs.

However, the Championship is in full swing this weekend and the Rhinos have used that to get game time into the legs of four of their rising talents with an initial one-week loan confirmed.

Joe Butterfield, Ned McCormack, Tom Nicholson-Watton and Ben Littlewood will all make the short trip to Hunslet, with all four in contention to play this weekend against Newcastle Thunder.

Nicholson-Watton has already made the loan switch to Hunslet this season as he and second-rower Zak Lloyd joined the Leeds-based club back in March, but this time they’re joined by two more Rhinos.

Ned McCormack has featured on loan for Huddersfield already this season but with England international Harry Newman not making the starting XIII at present, it means McCormack’s chances of first-team minutes are limited.

That’s also the case for Ben Littlewood, who has also already played on loan at Hunslet this year, given just how healthy Leeds’ pack has been so far this season.

The Rhinos also confirmed that whilst Nicholson-Watton, McCormack and Littlewood are one-week deals, Joe Butterfield has joined Hunslet on a month-loan deal.

They’re not the only Super League players on the move as Castleford Tigers confirmed that they had recalled Jimmy Beckett from Goole Vikings, with the prop forward instead set to head out to join Sheffield Eagles on a month-long loan.
