At the start of the official visit to London, the OPM announces that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was received by the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti “expressed thanks and gratitude for the United Kingdom’s continued support for Kosovo, emphasizing the strong and stable relationship between the two countries, based on shared democratic values ​​and commitment to European security and prosperity. He emphasized that the United Kingdom is a key strategic partner and pledged to deepen cooperation,” the OPM reports.
The OPM statement also notes that Kurti informed Secretary Cooper “about the ongoing threats from Serbia, with the support of Russia, including the operation of 48 forward operational military bases around the border with Kosovo.”
Regarding the dialogue with Serbia, “he reiterated the three preconditions for the continuation of the process: the extradition of the main criminal Milan Radoićić by Serbia, the withdrawal of the letter of former Prime Minister Brnabić, and the signing of the Ohrid Agreement. The Prime Minister stressed that Kosovo is committed to the full normalization of relations with Serbia through a legally binding agreement based on mutual recognition,” the announcement continues.
“Kosovo is a reliable partner for the United Kingdom and for the security of the region,” the OPM statement states.
Prime Minister Kurti emphasized that Kosovo’s membership in NATO and the European Union, as strategic goals, are essential for long-term security, stability, and prosperity.
