The 2026 Masters will get underway on Thursday afternoon. Rory McIlroy is set to begin his defence of the green jacket when he tees off at around 3:30pm BST (10:30am EDT). As the reigning champion, McIlroy will play alongside Cameron Young, the Players winner, and US Amateur Mason Howell.
Despite lifting the famous trophy 12 months ago, the Northern Irishman is joint third-favourite to win this year’s tournament at 14/1 behind Scottie Scheffler (25/4) and Jon Rahm (12/1) and alongside Bryson DeChambeau (14/1). Golf fans are anticipating to see if McIlroy can relive his glory in 2025, where he pipped Justin Rose to come out on top following a tense play-off on the 18th hole.
However, a field of 90 other PGA Tour, LIV Golf, DP World pros and select amateurs alike will look to upset McIlroy when the four-day event rolls into Sunday’s finale. Among the other frontrunners is Brooks Koepka (50/1), who is taking part in his first major tournament since ditching LIV Golf in December.
