Mimi said: “Where does the time go. I still feel like it has only been two years.”
After breaking into the music scene through TikTok in 2020 and taking part in “fun little dance” trends, the 25-year-old’s debut single Before I Go racked up more than 85 million views on the platform.
Since then, Mimi has gone on to release a range with Primark, an EP, Seven Shades of Heartbreak, and two albums, Amelia and Confessions, with a third on the way.
Having now released her new deluxe album Confessions: An Unexpected Turn of Events, which features five new tracks showcasing her “evolving pop sound”, Mimi said she is continuing to experiment with new sounds.
She told kmfm: “We knew there was going to be a deluxe. There was just so much music and songs that I loved, and with the deluxe, I think there is more of a country-pop swing to it.”
Mimi Webb grew up in Canterbury
Outside of music, Mimi enjoys horse riding, a hobby she has been doing since the age of five, and said implementing country into the album was a way of “mixing those two worlds”.
She added: “It is another way of showing who I am and introducing myself to people.”
Mimi also spoke about the meanings behind the songs on her new album, which she has been writing for the past two years.
She said: “Eyes Closed is about a rebound relationship, Stay Single was my single era, and My Go is about coming out of a breakup and wanting to put yourself first.
“These songs were really written in different times of my life. You grow so much as a person in your 20s, and I feel that naturally came out of me with these ideas and different stories.”

But Mimi does not take her music too seriously all the time, and says it is important to savour the time.
She added: “With music in general, it is just so fun, you have got to be light with it and enjoy it. In six years, it can go so fast.”
The singer-songwriter also revealed she is in the studio working on her third album and plans to use a more emotional sound, like her debut single Before I Go.
