At the ripe age of 42 years, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is still one of the most impactful players in the IPL. His Chennai Super Kings team might have put on a horrifying performance in the previous season, but they are still a top side in terms of balance and prospect.

However, the discussion now is about the possible replacement of Dhoni, which has been in discussion for a really long time now.

It is being reported that the Chennai Super Kings management is actively looking for a player who can replace Dhoni in future. Reportedly the search is happening for the right kind of player who can be a top wicket-keeper batsman and also be captaincy material at the same time.

It is established that Rajasthan Royals player Sanju Samson, who is one of the best wicketkeeping batsmen in the country is being seen as one of the possible alternatives to Dhoni.

Reportedly, even Sanju Samson is not in the frame of mind to stay with Rajasthan Royals and has formerly notified the side about his intention of leaving them by next year. One of the hot favourites to land, Sanju Samson could be Chennai Super Kings after having already missed out on Rishabh Pant last year.

This decision is likely to be made soon and we have to see whether Sanju Samson would actually leave Rajasthan Royals and end up at Chennai Super Kings.
