A 45-year-old man has died following the collision at Horns Bridge roundabout

A man has died following a crash at a major Derbyshire roundabout.
The collision occurred shortly after 7am on Wednesday, April 1 at Horns Bridge roundabout, in Chesterfield.
In a statement released on Friday evening (April 10), Derbyshire police said: “A 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“This morning, we were updated that the man had died.
“His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
“A 51-year-old man who was arrested after also being taken to hospital has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.”
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and police reported at around 8am on April 1 that the A61 southbound in Chesterfield, between Tesco and Hornsbridge, was closed as emergency services respond to an incident.
Horns Bridge leading to the A617 towards the M1 was closed, with a “large amount of standing traffic” reported.
The fire service confirmed that two fire engines were in attendance at the road traffic collision.
