Pawel Augustynik is confirmed to fight Simon Zachenhuber as part of the preliminary card for the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov boxing match held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, April 11.

Born in Poland, the Taunton-based boxer, 30, is set to be the first fighter of the night, taking to the ring at around 5:30-6pm.

He will then be followed by an array of big-name fighters, including Conor Benn and Tyson Fury, who is returning to fight since announcing his retirement just a year out of the sport, following his second heavyweight title defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, 36, has been described as a “legend” by his opponent, Makhmudov, who has also revealed that he had an encounter with a 9-foot-8-inch, 66 stone bear in the woods outside of Moscow nearly two years ago – an encounter that taught him to confront fear.

The former heavyweight world champion admitted that he has plans to fight Anthony Joshua once he has “got through” his fight with Makhmudov.

The Gypsy King told the Press Association: “The problem is that in heavyweight boxing anything can go wrong, there are no easy fights.

“And if you get knocked upside down, it’s finished, it’s done. I want it as the fight next and I’m sure AJ feels the same.

“Forget Wilder, the man is a shell of himself. Forget anyone else. Let me get through Saturday and then we will do the fight before the end of the year.

“I’ve been out of the ring longer than he has, 16 months out of the ring. Let’s do it, let’s dance.”

Everyone in Taunton and perhaps Somerset will be watching this fight for Pawel, who has been fighting since 2016, is going into the bout with a record of 17-0-0, with seven knockouts.
