Plymouth teenager Callum Dan made his professional boxing debut in Thailand
Plymouth teenaged boxing prospect Callum Dan is making his Indian debut later this month, headlining a show in Mumbai despite still being just 17 years old.
Dan has already had six professional fights despite only recently celebrating his 17th birthday, having been licensed in Asia – and all have come at least 6,000 miles from home.
The super welterweight, who only took his GCSE exams last year, has a perfect record of six wins from six fights already, and all have come by stoppage, meaning no fighter has yet to go the distance against him at professional level.
Coached by Marlee Dann of Honicknowle-based Intense ABC as well as his dad Shaun, Callum is next facing Suresh Pasham in the Global Boxing Series event at the Nexus Seawoods mall in Mumbai on April 26.
Pasham brings significant boxing experience, having shared the ring with seasoned fighters including Neeraj Goyat, and has been stopped only once in his career.
The bout comes just two months after Callum’s second-round stoppage victory against experienced Thai opponent Campee Phayom in Bangkok.
Since returning from Thailand, Dan has maintained his intensive training regime in preparation for this Mumbai challenge which has come through a management deal with the organisers of the Global Boxing Series shows.

The cast of a new Netflix series based around boxing are expected to be in attendance at the event, as well as guest Mary Kom, a six-time World Amateur champion and Olympic bronze medallist.
The event’s build-up is already generating significant local media attention, with Callum’s profile set to appear across Mumbai through traditional media and billboard campaigns.
This exposure represents a dramatic escalation from his early professional days, reflecting Marine Pro Boxing’s strategic investment in raising his international profile.
All fights will be streamed live worldwide on TrillerTV from 12:30am GMT (5pm in Mumbai), allowing global supporters to follow Callum’s continued progress toward his ultimate goal: obtaining his British Boxing Board of Control licence when he turns 18 and fighting professionally in front of a home UK crowd.
