Ben McKinney’s stay in the middle came to an end as he tried to push the Durham innings along.
Having hit six sixes during his innings, he was caught at long-on by the diving Will Williams, as he tried to pull Craig Miles for a seventh.
His partnership with David Bedingham was worth 209 runs for the third wicket. That’s the highest stand for any Durham pair against Gloucestershire.
McKinney’s total of 244 is the seventh best by a Durham player.
Bedingham was then out for 118. Having hit Miles for two consecutive sixes, he was caught on the boundary by Matt Taylor as he tried to hit a third.
It’s the 26th time he’s got there in first-class cricket and the 17th time he’s done it for Durham.
It’s now a case of when the visitors decide to pull out on a flat track which has offered little to the bowlers.
