Essex 149 & 36-1 v Somerset 348
141 + 60* and 18* means that Craig Overton is averaging 219 with the bat this season, all since being named skipper in Lewis Gregory’s pectoral injury absence.
A brilliant knock from him, only soured by not getting the 350 batting bonus point before being all out.
Overton has not had much luck with the ball though, despite bowling well, turning to Jack Leach after eight overs a sign that this pitch is flattening out slightly.
