A teacher from Middlesbrough steps into the Britain’s Got Talent spotlight tonight with his bid to get top marks from the judges.
Viewers will see Ben Ham-Ying, who teaches at Ingleby Manor School, perform his original rap on ITVX’s Britain’s Got Talent: Unseen. Using his rapper name ‘Jezzle’, Mr Ham-Ying is seen on images sent to Teesside Live performing with pupils at the audition in held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
He shared pics of his audition on the show today on his Instagram page today saying: “That time I went to Blackpool on a school day. Buzzing I can finally post these now.” No further information has been shared about how he was scored by judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI.
According to his LinkedIn page, the songwriter and independent recording artist has taught English at the Ingleby Barwick school since 2017 and is also a careers lead. He competes in the 19th series of the hit TV show for the chance to win the £250,000 prize and a coveted place at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
Britain’s Got Talent airs Saturday at 6.45pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with Britain’s Got Talent: Unseen following straight after on ITVX. Good luck Mr Ham-Ying!
