This sun-drenched comedy-drama, loosely taken from Gerald Durrell’s Corfu books (the most famous of which, My Family and Other Animals, has been filmed twice before), is a holiday for the eyes. Keeley Hawes stars as widowed mother-of-four Louisa Durrell, who moves her unruly brood from Bournemouth to the Greek island. As they struggle to adapt, it results in romance, gentle humour and, naturally, a houseful of animals. Sheer TV paradise.
