Attention at Sewell Group Craven Park has quickly snapped back to Super League after Hull KR stormed into a fifth straight Challenge Cup semi-final with a dominant 48-10 win over York Knights.

The Robins are now just 80 minutes away from a return to Wembley and the chance to defend their crown, after an eight-try demolition job that underlined their cup credentials. But head coach Willie Peters insists focus must switch immediately back to league duty.

It’s been a mixed start to the campaign for the 2025 treble winners, but momentum is building with three straight wins in all competitions – including eye-catching victories over St Helens and York, plus the Good Friday derby triumph over city rivals Hull FC.

The return to home turf has played its part in the upturn, but attention now turns to another tough assignment as they jet off to France next week to face Toulouse Olympique.

“We hold all the trophies and would love to be able to put our hands on them again,” said head coach Willie Peters.

“The nearest one is the Challenge Cup. We’ve put ourselves in a position to play in a semi but we’ve got three important Super League games before then.

“The most important is next week against Toulouse and we need to make sure we get that right first. It’s a really important game to get ourselves in a strong position in Super League.”

Rovers have racked up 124 points across their last three matches – but sitting seventh in the Super League table, they know there’s still plenty of work to do.

“You’re going to get judged every week. If we don’t put up a positive performance next week, you’ll be into me next week about it,” Peters continued.

“We’ve got to make sure we get each week right. For us, that’s focusing on our preparation this week and playing well against Toulouse.

“We’ve put ourselves in a strong position in the Challenge Cup because we’re in the semi and have picked up four points in Super League.

“We knew coming back here [Craven Park] would certainly help but we go away on another flight next week. We can’t use that as an excuse not to perform well.

“That’s why it’s a really important game for us. We’re going to get judged on that and not what we’ve just done.”
