An ITV star has slammed I’m A Celebrity bosses for allowing David Haye on the All Stars series. The boxer has come under fire for the comments he made about his girlfriend Sian Osbourne and other women.

Loose Women panellist Denise Welch fumed over David’s comments, which he made during last night’s show. David angered fans with his comments about his girlfriend, saying she had the “personality of a proper ugly bird.”

He then doubled down on the comments, saying: “She has. Most ugly girls realise they don’t they’re not pretty enough to….they gotta have a personality to banter and to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they’re not aesthetically amazing, straight away.

“Which is what’s called Ugly Duckling syndrome, where girls are ugly, when they start off, and then they and then they kind of they, they get pretty as they get older. But they still got the personality of when they’re ugly. Does that make sense?”

Trying to explain what he meant, he then added: “You get a girl who’s pretty from day one, you get a girl who’s different day one. Everyone goes ‘You’re so beautiful. You’re amazing’. She grows up thinking, I’m amazing. Everyone loves me. I can open any door. I can go anywhere I want.

“They don’t have to have a personality, because most super pretty girls are just idiots. But then their ugly friend, they’ve got work a bit harder, be more personable. They got to be nicer to everyone. Gonna get you a drink.”

Talk soon turned to David’s opinion of “pretty girls” being allowed into nightclubs over their “ugly friends”. Only making things worse, he said: “They only let pretty girls into the club, and the pretty girls go, oh, so sorry about that.

“They leave their ugly friend behind. I’ve seen it, I’ve watched it. I’ve watched it with my own eyes. I’ve seen it. It’s horrible. I feel terrible for these poor girls. She’s the one normally driving as well.”

An angry Denise responded to the clip, branding him a “k**b”. She said: “I’ve been away so only seen clips but how did David Haye get invited back as an ‘All Star’??? Was he not a complete k**b the first time round??”

Fans were quick to agree with Denise’s comment, as fans and celebrities alike fume over his inclusion in the All Stars show. Fans branded him “insecure” and “vile” for his comments.

One fan wrote: “David is so unbelievably painfully arrogant and insecure #ImACeleb Bev got it right! He is the boobie prize!” as another added: “Very confused how David Haye has a girlfriend at all, never mind two at once #ImACeleb.”

“Comments like those from David Haye about ‘ugly girls’ needing personality aren’t just outdated, they’re disrespectful and dehumanising. Even worse, most laughed instead of challenging it. More voices need to speak up when this kind of casual sexism gets a pass. Gross,” a third wrote.
