The four public-use tennis courts at Kensington Gardens – located on Kirkley clifftop along Lowestoft seafront – will be out of action on Wednesday and Friday this week.

Lowestoft Town Council – which oversees and manages the park’s grounds and amenities at Kensington Gardens – said that due to emergency tree works, the tennis courts will be closed between 8am and 4pm on Wednesday, April 15 and Friday, April 17.

A town council spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

However, tennis players will still be able to serve up a treat – with free courts available at two other prominent facilities in Lowestoft.

The spokesman added: “If you were planning to play during these times, please make use of our other free courts across the town at Normanston Park and Denes Oval.”
