Wildlife carers at Secret World Wildlife Rescue near Burnham-On-Sea have given a positive rehabilitation update on a tiny fox cub who arrived in their care after a tragic start to life.

The cub – named Nemo by the team – was found beside his mother, who had been hit by a car, and was brought straight to the centre thanks to the quick actions of a dedicated volunteer.

Although the cub was physically unharmed, Secret World staff say he was shaken — quiet, unsure, and suddenly without his mum.

However, within just a day, Nemo began to show signs of recovery. Carers say he quickly became braver and more vocal, revealing the lively personality they hoped to see.

This week, Secret World added that Nemo has taken another important step forward in his rehabilitation.

He has now moved into a larger enclosure, giving him more room to explore, play and build confidence. Staff say he has been investigating his surroundings and starting to embrace his natural instincts.

From frightened and alone to curious and growing stronger each day, Nemo is now firmly on the path toward an eventual return to the wild.
