Nine golfers came down the fairways for the 54-hole ‘Dawn to Dusk’ Challenge at Came Down Golf Club in Dorchester this past weekend as the club held a special charity fundraising event.

It was thought up by Rachel Horne to collect money for Weldmar Hospicecare.

They also wanted to support the Ladies’ Centenary.

The money from the day came from sponsorships, GoFundMe, and members giving.

Five women and four men started off the event on a chilly Sunday morning.

After a hard day of playing, they had some coffee, drinks from brewery sponsorship, and food from caterers James and Nina.

Even after such a long challenge, they were all still in a happy mood and even managed a bit of friendly banter.

The champion of the day was Geraint Hughes.

He had a total of 105 Stableford points, including 41 points in the second round off a handicap of four.

Sue Williams was the runner-up with 101 points, Cameron Dabbs came third with 98, and Deb Hetherington was fourth with 94.
