A badger which became entangled in a goal net in Aberdeenshire has been rescued by a wildlife charity.
It is thought the animal, which was discovered at Monquhitter School in Cuminestown on Monday morning, may have been trapped over the weekend but, despite that, rescuers said he was still “very feisty”.
New Arc Wildlife Rescue said the badger was safely restrained to allow for as much of the netting to be removed before being transferred to a vet.
The animal was said to be recovering well and the charity has urged those using football nets to take them down when not in use.
