Dillian Whyte‘s heavyweight showdown with Moses Itauma is just over a week away.

The two men will collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday 16 August, in a bout that is being described by many as a crossroads match-up in the banner division.

Whyte is once again looking to get back into world title contention, having suffered a defeat in his maiden crack at world honours against Tyson Fury in April 2022.

A failed drugs test the following year meant that Whyte has been inactive since then, competing just three times against lesser opposition since that clash with Fury over three years ago.

As for Itauma, he is widely-regarded as being the hottest prospect in the entire heavyweight division, with the 20-year-old putting together an unbeaten run of 12-0, with 10 of those wins coming by knockout.

His last three fights has seen him claim stoppage wins over Mike Balogun, Demsey McKean and Mariusz Wach, all of them inside the first two rounds, which has made him a big favourite heading into the fight against Whyte.

It appears that Whyte is doing everything in his power to try and prove the oddsmakers wrong though, as recent footage of him in the gym appears to show ‘The Bodysnatcher’ in tremendous shape ahead of the bout.

Fans were seemingly impressed with what they saw from Whyte, with a number of comments praising his physique and speculating that it could spell danger for Itauma.

“Imagine if he beat Itauma. The boxing world would erupt.”

“Wow!! Best shape I’ve ever seen him, this could be interesting.”

“Super shape — best I’ve seen him.”

With just days left to go until the two men meet, former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew has made his final prediction.
