Joining their EVO X and Pro models, TRP just added two budget-friendly hydraulic options to the EVO family. The COMP and EXPERT models are more affordable but aim to deliver the same stopping power as their spendier counterparts. Dive into the specifics of the 2026 TRP EVO brake additions below…

TRP has announced the addition of two new brake sets to the EVO family. The COMP and EXPERT models are more affordable versions of the X and PRO models, expected to deliver the same great performance. Let’s explore the differences between these new brakes below.

TRP COMP Brake

The TRP COMP brake is the brand’s most affordable option at $169. It features a 4-piston caliper and is only available in black. Like the more expensive EXPERT model, it lacks a pad contact adjuster. However, the COMP model requires a tool to adjust reach. It is the only brake in the EVO line to dissipate heat through an alloy piston, and it weighs 659 grams. The COMP lever is made of a die-cast alloy and has a 6061-T6 forged aluminum brake caliper. Like the rest of the brakes in the EVO line, they use 2.3mm rotors, TRP Performance mineral oil, and newly developed hoses for better pressure return at the lever.

TRP EXPERT Brake

The TRP EXPERT brake is the middle tier in the EVO line and retails for $225. It is only available in black and has a tool-free reach adjustment, but no pad contact adjuster. Heat is dissipated through a hybrid piston material, and the system weighs 678 grams. The EXPERT uses the same rotors, oil, and hoses as the COMP system, and also uses a die-cast alloy lever and 6061-T6 aluminum caliper body.
