Road users travelling northbound are advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol visible on local road signs.
Leave the M66 northbound at Junction 3.
From the northbound slip roads at Junction 3, turn right onto Pilsworth Road, heading east, and continue for a short distance.
At the junction with Moss Hall Road, turn left and continue north. Moss Hall Road becomes Heap Brow.
At the junction of Heap Brow and the A58 (Heap Bridge), turn left onto the A58.
At the A58 and M66 Junction 2 roundabout, take the fourth exit to rejoin the M66 northbound.
There is an eighteen‑tonne weight restriction on this diversion route between 8pm and 6am.
