The second week of I’m A Celebrity South Africa is nearly over, which has been far from smooth sailing for most of the campmates. The celebrities have been pushed to their limits enduring the hardest trials the series has ever seen according to viewers.
As tensions have been rising in camp between the star-studded cast, viewers have been left less than impressed by one campmate in particular. David Haye has faced backlash from viewers more than once after his ‘ugly duckling’ comment about his girlfriend Sian Osborne.
Talking about his partner, the former boxer told campmates: “She’s got the personality of a proper ugly bird,” leaving them stunned. Now, an Instagram clip of the champion boxer has once again sparked debate among viewers.
The stars are heard discussing who should take part in the latest trial, with David putting Adam Thomas forward. When the TV presenter says he doesn’t feel well, David shouts: “Not well? What’s wrong with him? He’s a grown a*** man.”
Before this, the pair were laughing as Adam says he is dehydrated, with David repeating his words in a joking tone. David then says: “Adam’s doing it, that’s that.” Scarlett Moffatt then tries to diffuse the tension, saying: “Stop it David, he’s not well”

Many fans have been saying they want to see David out after yesterday, Thursday, saw Seann Walsh become the first celebrity to leave the South Africa camp. One viewer said: “If it had been a public vote David would of gone instead of Sean. Hopefully he is next out because I think the campmates are beginning to see what he is like now.”
Another viewer said: “I think it’s time for David to go. Adam hasn’t done anything wrong if he doesn’t want to do a trial because he isn’t very well leave him alone. Just want to give Adam a hug.”
As fans reacted to the clip, angry followers fumed over David’s comments to Adam. The former Emmerdale star has the autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis, which leads to joint pain, swelling and stiffness reports The Mirror.
A second viewer commented: “How about David do one for a change! Poor Adam I am just so glad that the others have Adam’s back.”
Fans where quick to support Adam with one writing: “Adam has Psoriatic arthritis, which can flare up at anytime. I suffer from this and think he’s going amazing just by being there!”
David has also been involved in tension in camp relating to contraband. Adam brought chocolates into the camp and David, after eating one, seemingly wasn’t happy that rules were broken.
Other stars in the South Africa camp include Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard, TV personality Gemma Collins, Heart radio DJ Ashley Roberts, DJ Craig Charles, ex footballer Jimmy Bullard, pop icon Sinitta and Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah.
The season is pre-recorded and will air for six weeks. The first South Adrica based series aired in 2023 with Myleene Klass being crowned the winner with this year’s line-up hoping to do the same.
When the series comes to an end on Friday April 24, the final will be live and broadcast directly from London where the public will have the power to decide who is crowned the “ultimate legend” of 2026.
I’m A Celebrity South Africa airs at 9pm weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX
