Nathan Milner, who lives near the scene, said he was woken up at around 12:15pm this afternoon to the sound of explosions.
He said: “It was loud – boom, boom, boom. I heard at least 10 bangs”.
Living on Fieldhouse Road, he said he and other residents were evacuated from their homes at around 12.30pm. Police officers told them to “get ready – you are going to have to get out”. Officers referenced explosions, toxic smoke and safety.
