A man is fighting for his life after being attacked inside a chippy. The man suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital after being attacked inside the shop in Stockbridge Village.
The victim, aged in his 50s, remains in a critical condition following the attack, which took place on Friday April 17. The incident occurred inside The Village Chippy, off Leach Croft, at around 7.30pm.
Merseyside Police were alerted the following day by North West Ambulance Service after the victim was taken to hospital. He remains there in a critical condition.
Detectives are now appealing for the man who carried out the brutal assault to turn himself in. Witnesses to the incident are also asked to come forward “as a matter of urgency”.
Detective inspector Steven O’Neill said: “This was a shocking assault that has left a man in hospital in a critical condition.
“An investigation is ongoing to find the person responsible and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“There were people inside the chippy at the time of the incident, so we are directly appealing to them to get in touch as a matter of urgency.
“We are determined to find the person responsible and an investigation is ongoing. Please come forward if you can assist our enquiries.”
