Looks like we are going to see DDR5 prices not going down for months or years as the relief memory kits witnessed in Germany was short lived.

DDR5 Memory Kits See a Slight Price Hike in April After Dropping the Last Month in Germany; 48 GB DDR5-6000 Witnesses the Highest Price Growth

The DDR5 memory isn’t seeing any relief, and even though the market seems to have stabilized in recent weeks, reports suggest that we might see more hikes in the coming months. If you remember, we published a report last month showing how the average DDR5 prices have dropped in Germany. It was the first recorded price decline since July last year, but it appears that it was a temporary relief, and now the prices have readjusted, suggesting no more price declines.

The average DDR5 RAM kit price sits at around 410% compared to July 2025 levels. It’s not the highest since RAM prices peaked in January and February. It dropped noticeably in March, but exactly when we thought the RAM prices were going to decline further, the latest retail prices proved us wrong. The price drop turned out to be a slight adjustment, and this coincides with the retail prices in other parts of the world.

However, the average price for all the DDR5 RAM kits in Germany doesn’t show the whole picture. Individually, many DDR5 RAM kits saw a small decline in prices, but the 2x 48 GB DDR5-6400 saw the biggest hike. It’s natural to see higher RAM capacity kits to see more price hikes, but this isn’t always true, as previously we also saw some 16 and 32 GB DDR5 RAM kits growing in prices even more rapidly than 48 GB kits.

Keep in mind that the data from 3D Center comes from retail prices of several DDR5 RAM kits monitored across multiple German retailers. So, this data is quite accurate and shows a true picture of the DRAM market in Germany. This may not be the accurate representation of the DRAM market globally, but we have seen similar trends in the NA and other regions. It’s expected that the DDR5 prices will stay at similar levels in the coming weeks, but the volatility might last for several years.
