Smash Golf UK confirmed it was taking over Mile End Golf Club on the outskirts of the town earlier this year.

Since then, the business has been sharing updates of how it has been modernising the site.

And now, the new owners, Andy Humphreys and Craig Walton, have confirmed they will be welcoming customers from Friday, May 1.

A post on their Facebook page said: “We’re excited to announce that Smash Golf opens Friday 1st May 2026!

“Featuring our brand new TrackMan Driving Range and a new nine-hole course layout!

“We can’t wait to show you our new facility!”

To celebrate the opening, Smash Golf UK is having a pre-launch offer on all golf passes, meaning you can get four passes for the price of three.

Earlier this year, Andy and Craig, said they were delighted to take on Mile End, commenting: “We are excited to open our first flagship location in Shropshire and look forward to welcoming you all back to the facility soon.

“Over the coming months Smash Golf Ltd will redevelop the facility ahead of the golfing season. Planned improvements will include driving range upgrades, nine-hole golf course development and the introduction of a Smash Golf Cafe.”

The change of ownership at Mile End, brought to an end more than three decades of ownership by the Thompson family, after they established the club in 1992.
