Christian Walton – 5

Parried into a dangerous area for Charlton’s early opener and had to be bailed out when letting a long ball slip under his foot. Didn’t have loads else to deal with.

Darnell Furlong – 9 (MOTM)

Continually galloped forwards, created big first half chances for Philogene and Azon with accurate crosses and then got the Blues level with a laser-like finish from the edge of the box – his first goal for the club. Went on to win the match-winning penalty with more adventurous play. A clear MOTM.

Dara O’Shea – 7

Backed off for the opener and somehow escaped a booking when wrestling Charlie Kelman to the floor. Showed character after the break though. Made eight clearances.

Jacob Greaves – 7

Understatedly rock solid. Constantly got his head on the ball and read danger.

Ben Johnson – 6

Stepped in at left-back for Leif Davis again, the latter ruled out with a minor hamstring strain. Poorly placed square pass set up nightmare start, but deserves credit for his response.

Azor Matusiwa – 6

Dutchman hasn’t looked his powerful, alert-to-everything self since being forced off with that dead leg against Birmingham on Easter Monday. Did tee up Furlong for the equaliser though.

Jack Taylor – 6

Full of his usual energy and bite. Couple of late lunging fouls and was hooked on a booking.

Kasey McAteer produced another positive display. (Image: Ross Halls)

Kasey McAteer – 7

Playing with so much more confidence following back-to-back goals at Portman Road. Worked hard off the ball and constantly ran at his man when on it.

Anis Mehmeti wins a foul. (Image: Ross Halls)

Anis Mehmeti – 5

Struggled to make killer passes when buzzing around in the final third, often attempting to force things that weren’t on.

Jaden Philogene’s penalty crept under the keeper. (Image: Ross Halls)

Jaden Philogene – 6

Looked way off it – both on and off the ball – in the opening exchanges, but burst into life when skipping past two men in the build-up to Furlong’s equaliser. Fortunate that his penalty winner squeezed under the keeper.

Ivan Azon shoots at goal. (Image: Ross Halls)

Ivan Azon – 5

Spurned a glorious chance midway through the first half when scuffing the ball against his standing leg inside the box. Battled hard before being replaced in second half.

Subs

Dan Neil (for Taylor, 70) – 7

Added some calm to the midfield.

Jack Clarke (for Philogene, 70) – 5

Some poor decision-making and execution on the counter. Booked for simulation.

Marcelino Nunez (for Mehmeti, 77) – 5

Silly flick led to some late pressure. Missed big chance to kill game off.

George Hirst (for Azon, 78) – 6

Tried to help relieve pressure with hold up play.

Cedric Kipre (for McAteer, 86) – 7

Some vital headed clearances during nervy finish.
