Send Help, the latest film from Spider-Man trilogy and Evil Dead director Sam Raimi, has confirmed when it will be available via a streaming subscription service in the UK.

Already available to buy/rent from various digital storefronts, the film will be available on Disney+ from Thursday, 7 May.

Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, the film follows a meek corporate worker and a spoilt CEO’s son who has become her new boss, as they become stranded on a deserted island.

The tables are turned as she thrives in the wilderness while he flounders, but he begins to wonder that she’s not being entirely honest about their situation.

Is he on the money, paranoid, or unable to accept that he’s not in control?

We won’t go into spoilers here, but in our official Digital Spy review of the film, we called it a “deliciously entertaining, disgusting and twisted survival thriller”.

We praised the “irresistible pairing” of our two leads with their “second to none” comic timing, as well as Bill Pope’s “striking cinematography”.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an incredibly strong score of 93% positive from 282 critic reviews, and an 87% positive rating from over 2,500 user ratings.

Little White Lies dubbed it a “delicious comic satire” and “an absolute hoot”, and stated that Raimi is “still a master of of using movement and framing to create emphasis and draw us closer to the characters and their heightened emotions”.

“A gloriously over-the-top battle of wits that plays out like a violent mix of Cast Away, Misery, Lord of the Flies, and a day out with Bear Grylls,” wrote TimeOut, while famous critic Richard Roeper said McAdams delivers “what just might be the best performance of her career”.

Send Help will be added to Disney+ on 7 May.
