An urgent ‘do not eat’ warning has been issued over a popular salad topper sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. The item is also being recalled due to a “possible presence of salmonella” and shoppers are urged to return it to the store where it was bought.
Good4U is recalling its Super Sprouts Super Greens due to them being potentially contaminated with salmonella. Symptoms of salmonella can include a fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps, according to the Food Standards Authority (FSA), and the watchdog is advising anyone who has bought the product against eating it.
Anyone with these symptoms are also being advised to stay away from work, school or nursery for at least 48 hours after they have passed, to avoid passing it on to others.

Issuing a product recall notice for the item, the FSA said: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where you bought it. For more information, you can contact info@good4u.ie.”
Point of sale notices should also be displayed in all retail stores which are selling the product. These will inform shoppers about the recall, and provide information on what to do if they have bought the item.
A number of other product recalls have also been issued recently for items sold at UK supermarkets, including Tesco and Aldi. Major supermarket Tesco is recalling its Tesco Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert as it may contain pieces of plastic, while Aldi is recalling Fishmonger Hot Smoked two Salmon Fillets due to a labelling error.
