A man has died after being struck by a car in a Norh Wales seaside town. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Victoria Road West, Prestatyn on Monday afternoon.

The man was airlifted by Wales Air Ambulance to a specialist hospital in Stoke but he has died as a result of his injuries.

North Wales Police said today that the man was a 45-year-old from Wigan.

A statement on the force’s Denbighshire and Coastal Facebook page confirmed the tragic development: “The man’s family are being supported by specialist officers and the local Coroner has been informed.

“Anyone who has any information, and has not already spoken to us should contact us via our live webchat online or on 101 quoting ref 26000311780.”

The crash took place just after 5.30pm on Monday and was attended by polic, Noth Wales Fire & Rescue and the Welsh Ambulance Service.

It’s understood the vehicle involved was a Vauxhall Mokka.
