A man is fighting for his life in hospital this evening after a crash involving a coach and a car on the M4. He has been taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition following the serious collision in the early hours of Sunday.
The westbound side of the motorway has been shut in Wiltshire all day between the junctions of Hungerford and Swindon East.
Wiltshire Police has now released a statement It says: “At around 2.35am this morning (26/04), we responded to a collision between a BMW and a National Express coach on the M4 westbound between junction 14 for Hungerford and 15 for Swindon.
“The driver of the BMW, a man in his 20s, suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“There were no other reported serious injuries.
“A closure has been put on between junctions 14 and 15 westbound, which remains in place, while an investigation and repair work to the carriageway is carried out.”
