Colleen has worked for the NHS for more than 20 years.
She is also a carer, after her husband had a bleed on the brain.
“Colleen never truly stops when it comes to looking after someone,” reads a nomination.
The dedicated healthcare professional also helps to run a club at a local church, which gives the older generation the chance to meet up and have a warm meal cooked for them while they socialise.
“There are several occasions where Colleen has finished working a night shift, gone home for a few hours, and then is straight back at the club being a great host,” the nomination reads.
“If she did not continue to go the club, unfortunately this would be stopped as no one else is available to man the operation of the club.
“She puts her heart and soul into everything she does for others.”
Speaking after her win, Colleen said: “I’m so pleased to get this award for the NHS.
“I’ve worked really hard for the NHS for so many years, and also caring for my husband.”
