“We are thrilled to become the official legal supporter of the Genesis Scottish Open, a partnership which not only adds further weight to our presence in the Scottish market but will showcase our brand and expertise to a truly international audience,” Mr Shanks said. “The Genesis Scottish Open is one of the most high-profile and prestigious events in Scotland and is the perfect fit and alignment with the AG brand.

“This partnership will provide a unique platform for us to engage with our clients. We also have exciting plans to build on our commitment to unlocking young potential over the period of our partnership.”

Last year’s winner of the Genesis Scottish Open was US underdog Chris Gotterup, who went on to represent his country in the 2025 Ryder Cup in part on the strength of that performance.

The Herald Scottish Golf Survey is nearing its end but there is still time to take part. If your organisation is in charge of a golf course and has not received an invitation, please contact kristy.dorsey@newsquest.co.uk.

Among other previous winners are Scotland’s Bob MacIntyre and Colin Montgomerie, as well as grand slam winner Rory McIlroy who has confirmed his participation in this year’s event.

“We are delighted to welcome Addleshaw Goddard as the official legal supporter of the Genesis Scottish Open,” said Rory Colville, senior championship director at the DP World Tour. “The tournament continues to go from strength to strength, and partnerships like this play an important role in helping us deliver a world class event on Scotland’s Golf Coast for players, fans and partners alike.

“Addleshaw Goddard’s strong Scottish presence, combined with its international reach and its commitment to creating positive social impact, makes it an excellent fit for the Genesis Scottish Open, and we look forward to working together over the coming years.”

Addleshaw Goddard has 21 offices internationally, which include three Scottish locations in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
