Helen Flanagan has suffered another romantic setback after getting the boot from a dating programme just four episodes in. The former Coronation Street actress joined the cast alongside Jedward’s John Grimes, but her stint was only brief.
The group chose to eliminate the 35-year-old performer from the show, which was recorded in Tenerife. During a dramatic sequence, both Helen and Rogan O’Connor were shown the door.
However, the verdict didn’t appear to rattle Helen as she told them: “Thank you so much,” although she was clearly disappointed. Following her departure, she said: “I do feel a sadness that I didn’t find a romantic spark, but I feel that the connection I have with the girls… I feel sad leaving them,” reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, her co-star and The Only Way Is Essex personality Dani Imbert, 28, said that the decision to eliminate her came as a shock. In a private interview, Dani said: “I’m so shocked the boys have picked Helen.”
“I feel like they loved her so much. It’s going to feel so strange not having her here in the morning. Really sad to see her go.”
Prior to the programme’s launch, she told The Mirror: “I have always loved it. When I was asked, it was November and freezing in the UK, and I just thought: ‘How fun?’ I was single, so why not? I had the best time.”

“What I loved most was the girl time. There was such a gorgeous group of girls, and I don’t often get that kind of social time in my everyday life.”
Elsewhere in Helen’s life, the Coronation Street star is still hoping to return to the soap: “I’d absolutely love to return. It feels like home.”
“I would love Rosie to come back as an iconic barmaid and have a Corrie wedding as it’s the only wedding I’d be getting at the moment, but they haven’t been in touch yet, it would be so perfect as I only live around the corner.”
