It’s a big week for KentOnline’s sister television station KMTV with the expansion of its streaming service – making it even easier to watch.
Content is already available on Freely through digital terrestrial television, but from tomorrow viewers can also watch via broadband, without the need for an aerial, streaming Kent and Medway-based shows directly to their TVs.

According to channel director Andy Richards, streaming on Freely mirrors KMTV’s current transmission area, but crucially, it helps fill in long-standing coverage gaps within that area.
Looking ahead, the technology also gives the potential to expand to a fully county-wide service, subject to a successful consultation with Everyone TV.
As more households move towards streaming, this ensures KMTV remains easy to find and ready for the future.
As part of this change, the station is no longer available on Virgin Media. This is a decision made by the platform operator and is outside of the station’s control.

Mr Richards said: “We know some viewers will be disappointed, and we’re really grateful for your continued support.
“The good news is there are now more ways than ever to watch KMTV, including Freeview, online and across our digital platforms.”
KMTV delivers more news and current affairs than any other local TV channel in the country, with award-winning journalism at its heart.
This move means it can keep bringing viewers the stories that matter across Kent, wherever and however you choose to watch.
Mr Richards added: “This is the next most important step for KMTV as we continue to grow, helping us reach new audiences across Kent.
