It’s definitely in Chelsea’s best interests to ensure Cole Palmer is as happy as possible.

As everyone has seen this summer at the Club World Cup, Chelsea are fortunate to have a talented young squad with so many players that are only getting better. It’s quite obvious that Cole Palmer is the jewel in the crown, though.

Palmer, 23, lit up the Club World Cup tournament, scoring twice in the final to beat Paris Saint-Germain and lift the trophy.

Palmer is deemed as ‘unsellable’ by Chelsea, along with Moises Caicedo, which will comfort supporters. On top of that, the English attacking midfielder is still currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

Even if the most optimistic fan expected Palmer to succeed when he joined from Manchester City two years ago, he’s definitely exceeded all expectations by growing into one of the world’s top players.

It may surprise some Chelsea fans to hear Palmer admit that his closest friend at Chelsea is Tosin Adarabioyo.

When discussing Blues teammate Tosin, Palmer said via The Daily Mail: “We know the same people and he’s just similar to me. So we’ve got on really well ever since he’s been at Chelsea. And now you can’t separate us.”

Tosin, 27, turned out to be an incredible signing by Chelsea last year on a free transfer. Not only is the central defender a great player in his own right, but he’s also close with Palmer and it sounds like a key figure inside the dressing room.

Blues head coach Enzo Maresca described Tosin as a leader in Chelsea’s dressing room. The centre-half is an older figure in such a young squad when he’s only really just entering his prime years now.

Nicknamed ‘Uncle Tosin,’ the English defender goes under the radar for his influence at the club.

It’s been reported that Chelsea want to keep Tosin beyond the summer because his importance can’t be stressed enough internally.

For Palmer, he must be delighted to hear that his favourite club teammate isn’t going anywhere.

Tosin is still under contract with the Blues until 2028, penning a four-year deal when he first arrived at the club.

We suspect there will be a lot of debate about whether he gets into Chelsea’s strongest line-up next season. Regardless, he’s proven that he rarely lets the team down when he plays, proving he can come in and out of the XI to get effect.
